Private Enos S. Kimble was born in Camden, NJ on December 27, 1895, to Walter and Catherine Kimble. The family lived at 625 Birch Street in North Camden. Enos worked as a stenographer, though he was unemployed when he registered for the draft on June 5, 1917.
Enos Kimble was drafted on May 27, 1918 and sent to Camp Dix, NJ, where he was assigned to Company 14, 153rd Depot Brigade. He was already ill when he left for Camp Dix, and his condition grew rapidly worse. Private Kimble died from meningitis at the base hospital at Camp Dix on June 18, 1918, before he was ever assigned to a regiment. He was survived by his parents, Walter and Catherine Kimble, of 625 Birch Street, Camden.
