Biography
Private Edward R. Grossman Jr. was born on February 14, 1908, to Edward R. and Christine Grossman. He was the third child, with two older sisters. In 1920 the family owned a home at 306 Fourth Avenue in Haddon Heights, New Jersey.
Edward Grossman Jr. entered the Army in August of 1943 and was sent overseas in January of the following year. Wounded in action after arriving in Europe, he spent one month in hospital before returning to combat. He was killed in action on May 23, 1944, in Italy. After the war his body was returned to the United States and he was buried at Locustwood Cemetery in what is now Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He was survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Grossman, of 105 West High Street, Haddon Heights.
