PFC Edward J. Sullivan was killed in action on December 14, 1944. A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ, he had lived at 713A Woodlynne Avenue in Collingswood, NJ. Prior to entering the Army in September of 1942, he had worked for a wholesale grocery firm in Philadelphia, PA. Edward J. Sullivan was survived by his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Hoily of 535 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ, and two brothers who were in the military at the time, Joseph and Michael Sullivan. He was 27 at the time of his death, which was reported in the January 13, 1945 edition of the Camden Courier-Post. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
