Corporal Edward J. Bustynowicz, 20, was born in Camden, NJ, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Bustynowicz of 1227 Morton Street, Camden. He graduated from Camden High School on June 18, 1946, where he played on the football team and earned his letter C. As a high school student he had been a member of the Army Air Force and received a certificate of honorable service in May 1944.
Corporal Bustynowicz enlisted in the Army and after six months of basic training in Kentucky was sent to Alaska on special service. He died on May 19, 1948 from injuries suffered in an airplane accident in Alaska. He was also survived by a brother, Walter.

Cpl. Edward J. Bustynowicz, 20, on duty with the army in Alaska, died last Wednesday of injuries suffered in an airplane accident.
Details of the accident were not given in a telegram from the War Department to the youth’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Bustynowicz, of 1227 Morton Street.
Corporal Bustynowicz, who was born in Camden, enlisted in the army last year after six months of basic training in Kentucky, he was sent to Alaska, assigned to special service.
He was a graduate of Camden high school June 18, 1946. He played on the Camden High football team. He had received his letter C. When a high school student he was a member of the army air force during the war and has received a certificate of honorable service in May, 1944.
Also surviving is a brother, Walter.
The body will not arrive from Alaska for about six weeks, when arrangements for burial will be made through a funeral home at 1311 South Tenth street.
