Biography
Private First Class Domenick F. Mariani was born April 28, 1924, to Camillo and Domenica (Margaret) Mariani. He lived at 1120 South 3rd Street in Camden, NJ. He attended public schools in Camden and had graduated from Junior High School.
Domenick Mariani was inducted into the United States Army in April of 1943. In August of 1943 he was stationed at Fort Knox, KY. He was killed in action in France on August 6, 1944. After the war, his body was returned to the United States, and he was buried at New Camden Cemetery on March 31, 1949. Survived by his parents and brother Emilio, he rests with his parents, brother Ernesto, and other family members.

Last Rites Tomorrow For Camden Hero

Solemn requiem Mass for Pfc. Dominic F. Mariani, 19, of 1120 South Third street, will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. Relatives and friends will meet at 9 a.m. in the residence. The funeral will be under direction of Antonio Mecca, with military rites by the Gen. Eduardo Ferrero post, 3 and Battalico post, 4, IAVW.
Private Mariani entered the army in April, 1943, went overseas in 1944, and was killed that Aug. 6 in France. Surviving are his parents, Camillo and Margaret, and a brother, Emilio, all Camden.
