Introduction
Charles Crossley Croasdale was born January 17, 1879 in New Jersey to Charles and Emma Dare Croasdale. His father was a carpenter. Charles Croasdale grew up in the 500 block of Bridge Avenue in Camden. The family lived at 579 Bridge Avenue in 1887. When the census was taken in 1900, he was living with his widowed mother and older sister Cora at 569 Bridge Avenue. He was already working as a printer press operator. He would follow this trade, first for the Philadelphia Record and later for the Camden Courier-Post, until his retirement.
At the time of the 1910 census enumeration, Charles Croasdale, his wife Emma and daughter Helen were living at 700 South 9th Street, the corner of South 9th Street and Haddon Avenue. Sadly, when the Census was taken in 1920 the Croasdales had separated. Charles Croasdale lived at 572 Carman Street with his daughter Helen and widowed mother. He moved to Pitman NJ during the 1920s. Charles Croasdale married his second wife, Ida Simpson, sometime after April of 1930. He died at his home in Pitman on February 26, 1936.

Croasdale.—Suddenly, on January 4, 1899, Charles C., husband of Emma L. Croasdale, aged 63 years. The relatives and friends of the family, also the employes of the West Jersey and Seashore Railroad, are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday evening, January 7, at 8 o’clock, at his late residence, 569 Bridge avenue, Camden, N. J. Also services at the M. P. church, at Glassboro, N. J., at 12.30 P. M. Sunday. The funeral will leave Camden Sunday morning on the 9 o’clock train from Philadelphia. Interment at Glassboro.

CHAS. CROASDALE DIES; COURIER PRESSMAN
A pressman in the Courier-Post pressroom for years, Charles C. Croasdale, 57, died Wednesday at his home, 107 Second street, Pitman. In ill health more than a year, he had been bedfast since last October.
Mr. Croasdale had been employed at the Courier-Post since 1903. He had previously worked at the Philadelphia Record. He is survived by his widow, Ida, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Wood, Pitman. Funeral services will be held at 308 West Holly avenue, Pitman, Monday at 2 p. m., and burial will be at Hurffville.
