WALTER "RICH" RICHARDSON served as Camden's Director of Public Works in the 1980s after serving in a similar capacity for the City of Yonkers NY. He left to take a similar position with Manchester Township in Ocean County, NJ. While in Camden he was active with the Camden Rotary Club. Walter Richardson moved to Colorado in 2002. He passed away there in July of 2007. |

Park resident Walt 'Rich' Richardson died at Prospect Park Living
Center, Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Walter Francis Richardson was born May
29, 1932 in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents were Walter Solomon and
Joan (Sullivan) Richardson.
Rich graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree
in 1957. He served as a Regional Supervisor for Westchester county
parks, Director of Maintenance of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation
for the city of Yonkers, City of Yonkers Deputy Commissioner of Public
Works, Director of Public Works for city of Camden, N.J. and township of
Manchester, N.J.
Rich left the Jersey shore for the Colorado mountains in 2002 to be
closer to his family and grandchildren. He is survived by 1 son, Michael
Richardson and wife Marie of Estes Park, 2 daughters, Barb Chestnut of
Gillette, NJ and Kate O'Connor of Novato, CA. He is also survived by 3
grandchildren, Nathan and Alexis Richardson and Mario O'Connor.
