M.D. Mustapha M.
Mustapha M. Khan, M.D., a much-beloved family physician,
community leader and humanitarian, who served the under-served people of
Camden, NJ for over a half of a century, died Tuesday, Nov 10, 2009 of
complications from kidney disease. He was 84. Dr. Khan came to Camden in
1958, where he practiced family medicine for fifty-one years, before
eventually retiring earlier this year. During this half-century of
service, Dr. Khan treated tens of thousands of patients, from infants to
the elderly, and was staunchly committed to treating every single
patient who came through his doors, regardless of their ability to pay.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jackie, his five children,
Ricardo (Naila), Rasheed (Michelle), Amir (Aughtney), Sherena and
Mustapha Jr. (Allison), two sisters, Massumen Hussein and Doolin Khan,
six grandchildren, Micah, Amir Jr, Shera, Rasheed Jr, Joshua and Shane,
3 great grandchildren, Micah Anthony, Sierra and Mayah. Funeral service
will be on Sat., Nov 21, 2009, 11 AM and the viewing 9-11AM at Solid
Rock Worship Center, 165 White Horse Pk, Clementon, NJ www.solidrockwc.org.
