DAVID REDD is a member of a family that has lived in the Centerville Section of Camden for over 100 years. He served for many years as the Democratic Committeeman from the Eighth Ward. In the 1960s he worked for the city as coordinator of recreation. He sat on the Board of Commissioners for the Housing Authority of the City of Camden in the 1980s and 1990s. 

David Redd spent a lot of time in the restoration and care of the Butler Cemetery at Ferry Avenue and Charles Street, the final resting place of many African American Civil War veterans.
