Introduction
Andrew Gorman was born on November 23, 1910. He served as a Technician 5th Class with the 853rd Engineer Battalion, Aviation, U.S. Army Air Forces.
Andrew Gorman lost his life on November 26, 1943, while aboard the troop ship HMT Rohna, which was bombed and sunk off the coast of Algeria, North Africa. The Rohna had set sail from Oran, Algeria, bound for Bombay, India. He died along with 1,102 members of the armed forces and ship’s crew. His body was not recovered, and he is commemorated on the Tablets of the Missing at North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia.
