Alfred A. Ladner

Alfred Ladner was born in Saverne, France around 1865. He came to America with his wife Josephine in 1889. An expert machinist, he owned his own machine shop at North 2nd and York Street which he operated for many years.

During World War I Alfred Ladner invented a machine to extract juice from oranges. This machine became quite popular and was used on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. At the time of the 1920 census the Ladner family lived at 207 York Street in North Camden, and Alfred A. Ladner was still in Camden at the time of the April 1930 census enumeration. He moved shortly afterwards to Tomlinson Mill Road in Evesham Township, where he remained until his death on March 22, 1950.
