Gunner’s Mate Second Class Albert V. Spinelli was born on May 5, 1922, and lived at 1118 Collings Road in Camden NJ, near the intersection of Royden Street, 3rd Street, and Clinton Street. He served aboard USS Minivet (AM-371), a minesweeper of the United States Navy.
USS Minivet was sunk on December 29, 1945, after the war had ended, when she struck a mine in the Tsushima Straits between Japan and Korea. Albert Spinelli was among the crew members killed. He was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Plot H138.
