Private First Class Albert L. Harvey was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey, of Gloucester City, New Jersey. He had attended Gloucester High School, and worked for the New York Shipbuilding Company before being drafted into the Army in 1942. Assigned to the 29th Infantry Division, he was sent overseas in September of 1943. Private Albert Harvey landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944. He was killed in action near Villers-Fossard in Normandy on June 23, 1944.

Albert Harvey was survived by his wife, Florence, of 251 South 3rd Street, Gloucester City; his parents; a sister, Clara, of 137 Westminster Street, Gloucester City; and a brother, PFC George Harvey, then serving in the Army.
