TECHNICIAN FOURTH CLASS LEE A. DYSON was born in Pennsylvania in 1918 to Matthew M. and Beatrice A. Dyson. Sometime after 1922 his parents relocates to Atco NJ, where his father had gone into the ice business. The family owned a home on Maple Avenue, near Raritan Avenue, in Atco. In 1936 Matthew Dyson passed away, and was buried at Atco Cemetery. Before entering the military, Lee Dyson had been a member of Atco Volunteer Fire Company #1. A high school graduate, Lee Dyson was inducted into the United States Army at Fort Dix NJ on April 8, 1942. Lee Dyson was assigned to
the 6th Armored Division, which in 1943 was stationed at Camp Cooke CA,
which is now Vandenburg Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged on
November 14, 1943. Lee Dyson died
while serving at Camp Cooke on January 7, 1944. |
