PRIVATE FIRST CLASS RAYMOND DOMZ, 32, of Madison Avenue in Magnolia NJ, was killed in action while serving with the 134th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division on November 14, 1944. Raymond Domz owned and operated, with his wife Helen, Ray's Quality Market on Evesham Road in Magnolia for eight years. He had worked for a chain store in Magnolia prior to going into business for himself. When he was drafted, he was forced to sell his business, and he entered the Army on December 27, 1943. Going overseas with his division in May, 1944, PFC Domz was wounded in October 1944 in the fighting that took place after the capture of Nancy, France. He returned to his unit in time for the Saar offensive, that began on November 8, 1944. He was killed in action on the sixth day of the offensive. |
