FLOYD KIERSTED BRYANT, of Lawnside NJ, was serving in the United States Army when he suffered a fatal heart attack while on leave. Born in New Jersey in 1912, he was the son of Horace and Sadie Bryant. The third child, he came after brothers Horace Jr. and Granville, and before brother Rutledge, sister Anne, and fraternal twins Edith and Elwood Bryant. His father worked as a carpenter. Before entering the army on September 29, 1942 Floyd Bryant worked as a schoolteacher in Lawnside. He remained in the Army after World War II, served during the Korean War and was still on active duty when he died. He is memorialized on the Lawnside NJ War Memorial. |
