PRIVATE ARTHUR L. COLLINS
JR. was born in December of 1919 in New Jersey to Arthur and Ethyl
Collins of 1001 Park Avenue, Haddon Heights NJ His father was the
secretary for a large lumber company.
Arthur Collins Jr. was
drafted into the United States Army in January of 1942. He volunteered
for airborne duty, and served with the 101st Airborne Division. He was
reported missing in action at St. Mere-Eglise on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
His body was later recovered, and his death was reported in the October
17, 1944 edition of the Camden Courier-Post, which listed an address
for him of 1501 Park Ave. He was survived by his parents and a sister,
Lillian.
