James L. Myles, Jr.

LIEUTENANT JAMES L. MYLES, JR. a pilot with the Army Air Force Transport Command, was killed when his plane crashed in China on February 13, 1945. He was born in Camden NJ to Mr. and Mrs. James B. Myles Sr. The Myles family later moved to Upper Darby PA, and by the war years were at Orlando Ave, Gloucester City NJ.

James L. Myles Jr. resided with his wife Dorothy Burns Myles at 109 4^th Avenue in Haddon Heights NJ. He had also lived for a period of time in Audubon NJ. James Myles was a graduate of Upper Darby (PA) High School in 1941, and had entered Drexel before entering the Army in January of 1942. Besides his wife and parents, he left a four-month old daughter, Christine J. Myles, whom he never saw, six brother, Thomas R., David B., William M., Donald J., Robert A., and John E., as well as three sisters, Mrs. Mary Cale, Mrs. Lavinia Everett, and Mrs. Jessie Schwartz. His brothers David and Thomas both served in the Navy during the war.  

James Myles was brought home to New Jersey in December of 1948. He was interred at Harleigh Mausoleum in Camden NJ on January 3, 1949.
