STAFF SERGEANT ALBERT
THOMPSON, 25, of 507 Harrison Avenue in Collingswood NJ, was killed in
action on January 17, 1945 in Belgium. Born on August 19, 1919, he was
one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Thompson
of Herkimer NY. He had enlisted in the Army in
June of 1940, and had married Pauline Fritz, of Collingswood NJ in early
1942.
Sergeant Thompson was
survived by his wife and a son Albert Theodore Thompson. He was also survived by
his parents, five brothers, and three sisters. He was brought home after
the war, and buried at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken NJ, with members
of his wife's family.
