Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. I had stopped into Liberty Station and was talking to Chief Phelps when the tones sounded… an auto accident on Route 676 south of Mickle Boulevard. This turned out to be a one car accident with no injuries, fortunately for all concerned. There are a few interesting shots of police, fire, and EMS doing all that is necessary in cases like this… and there is a lot… directing traffic and keeping first responders safe, taking care of the injured, cleaning up debris that could become hazardous to other drivers. Upon returning to Liberty Station with Chief Phelps, we saw that with Engine Company 8 being reactivated, a few of the fellows decided to have a little fun with some caution tape. In a job where one is dealing with potentially life and death situations on a daily basis, a little levity is a good thing. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
