Camden
Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. I spent some time in the city, and caught up with three runs. #1 A staff member of the Cathedral Kitchen on Federal Street, a facility whose misguided sense of priories has contributed mightily to the destruction of Camden by squatters and metal thieves, left the gas valve open on a stove the night before. The gas was turned of and the building was ventilated in short order. I stopped at Fire Headquarters after getting a few shots of this… and took a couple of pictures while I was there, too! #2 A CO detector malfunction at South 8th and Newton Avenue #3 Engine 9 investigated a reported gas leak coming from a vacant store-front building on South 27th Street. Apparently metal thieves had hit the building, stealing pipes in the basement. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
