Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. Sunday dinner at Liberty Station, as Engine 10's master chef, Joey DiPaolo, whipped up a batch of meatballs, sausage and gravy… not to be missed. I took a few shots, then headed home… and caught a job on Howell Street in East Camden on the way… What? 2000 Block of Howell Street, AGAIN? We were just there!!!! As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil

Camden Man Shot by Police Faces Weapons Charges An armed Camden man who was shot by police after a brief foot chase Tuesday has been charged with weapons offenses, authorities said Wednesday. Bryheim Baskin, 20, remains in critical condition at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and city police said. Around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Camden police stopped Baskin on 32d Street near Westfield Avenue for driving carelessly. As officers pulled up behind Baskin's red 2008 Toyota, he "shifted his vehicle into reverse, ramming" the police vehicle, authorities said. Officers then saw Baskin holding a gun as he got out of his car and ran toward Beideman Avenue, where he encountered police behind a house on the 200 block. A Camden officer fired once at Baskin when he refused an order to drop his gun, which was recovered at the scene. |
