Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. I was in Camden on the morning of Tuesday, September 4, 2012 when I spotted Engine 10 on Kaighn Avenue east of Broadway, returning to their quarters after an investigation nearby. I pulled over and had taken a couple of photos when a call came over the radio dispatching Rescue 1 to the Admiral Wilson Boulevard. Off I went! At approximately 10:00 AM a tractor trailer transporting a dumpster, traveling eastbound on the Admiral Wilson Boulevard, was involved in a motor vehicle accident. From what I gathered, the driver of the truck swerved to avoid a passenger car at the Hess gas station, hit the car, lost control, and drove off the highway into the Cooper River. No one was hurt, but getting the truck out of the river was quite an event. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
