The first of two working fires on June 30, 2012, this came in at 9:00 AM in the morning. Careless cooking on a stove in the basement of 1143 Mechanic, a two-story twin dwelling, resulted in some damage to the interior of the building. Squad-7 arrived on scene with with fire and smoke showing and with a report of people trapped. Battalion Chief Jesse Flax Jr. placed all hands in service. One person who lived at the address was transported to the hospital by EMS for smoke inhalation. I arrived on location as this job was just about wrapped up, and got some pictures. Little did I or anyone else know at the time that we would all be back together again a few hours later at 624 and 626 Cherry Street. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
