Fire Department |
June 21, 2012 was a very hot day with temperatures topping 95 degrees and a busty one for the Camden Fire Department, with two house fires in East Camden. The morning saw a fire in the rear of 323 North 39th Street. Pennsauken police reported a house fire with occupants trapped. Police assisted all occupants out of the dwelling prior to the Camden Fire Department's arrival. Engine-9 arrived on scene with heavy fire in the rear of a two story twin dwelling. All hands were placed in service. A shed attached to the rear of the house was well involved. Two hand lines were placed in service, the fire was quickly knocked down and all searches were negative, with no injuries reported. In the late afternoon a call came in concerning a bedroom fire at 3042 Royden Street. On arrival Battalion Chief Sandrock reported smoke showing from the second floor of a two-story Middle of the row dwelling. Firefighters removed one victim from the first floor, who was transferred to EMS and taken to hospital.. I arrived on the scene of the scene of the second fire as companies were about to take up there hose and return to quarters. I did get some photographs, and took an eight minute video of hose being retrieved and put back on the truck. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
