Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department that began with the page Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. Besides extinguishing fires, the Camden Fire Department performs innumerable other tasks, including providing assistance to Police and EMS personnel when needed, opening up cars when people have locked their keys inside, responding to reports of gas leaks, highway hazards, motor vehicle accidents and downed wires… and yes, rescuing cats from trees. On May 29, 2012 the Camden Fire Department was asked to make a forced entry into 808 Line Street by EMS personnel, who had responded to a call for assistance but were unable to gain access as the patient, an elderly woman, apparently had collapsed and was unable to open her door. Ladder Company 1 was dispatched. Serving with Ladder 1 that day were Captain Kevin Folkman and Firefighters Jose Cruz, David Figueroa, and David Melendez. Upon arrival entrance was quickly made and the patient was taken to hospital by EMS. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
