Camden Fire Department - Basketball Fundraiser

On April 10, 2012 a fundraiser basketball game was held at the Rutgers-Camden gym on North 3rd Street to raise money to aid a member of the Camden Fire Department who was seriously ill. The Camden Fire Department's basketball team took on a team from the Pleasantville Fire Department from Pleasantville, New Jersey.

As there was difficulty in obtaining a venue for this game, and there was only 72 hours notice from the time arrangements were finalized and the time the game had to be played, a significant amount of money was raised. Members of the departments and their families gathered after the game at the union hall on Market Street, and a good time was had by all.
