On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. At approximately 12:50 AM on the morning of March 12, 2012 a fire was reported at 1114 Lois Avenue in Camden's Cramer Hill section. Battalion 2 arrived on scene with heavy fire throughout a two-story single family dwelling, with exposure problems. All hands were placed all hands in service. Companies placed numerous lines in service with an exterior attack. The fire was confined to the dwelling, although adjacent properties did receive some smoke and water damage.. Four victims were transported to the hospital, fortunately, all were treated and released. Numerous special calls were made to the scene. At 1:08 AM command reported heavy fire conditions throughout the dwelling and exposures. An additional engine was requested to be sent to the scene to take a hydrant At 1:12 AM command reported for patients were being treated at that time. Engine 10 had arrived on scene to take up a hydrant, the nearest hydrant, however, was at River Avenue. At 1:43 AM command reported that with 4 pipes and lines in operation the fire was darkening down and was probable at that time. At 1:52 it was reported that the main bodies of fire had been knocked down. All searches had proven negative and the fire was placed under control. Four injured in Camden fire CAMDEN, N.J. - March 12, 2012 (WPVI) -- A fast-moving fire injured four people in Camden overnight. The flames broke out in a house on Lois Avenue around 1 a.m. Monday. 911 operators reported hearing explosions on the line when the call for the fire came in to the dispatch center. Heavy fire and smoke poured from the second floor of the home when firefighters arrived. They knocked down the blaze in about an hour. The four victims are being treated at the hospital for burns and smoke inhalation. There's no word on their conditions.. |
