Fire Department |
This page and the other pages in this series are the successors to the series of web-page about the Camden Fire Department called Camden Fire Department: The Fires of the Summer of 2011. On this and other pages in the series you will find pictures and information regarding different events and aspects of the fire service in Camden, New Jersey. At approximately 2:15 AM on November 11, 2011 a vacant two-story end of the row house at 915 North 5th Street in North Camden was reported to be on fire. This building and the adjacent houses at 907, 909, 911, and 913 had long been abandoned and had already been slated for demolition. Engine Company 1 arrived to find the fire had spread through the roof. Battalion 2 (BC Frank Saia) used all hands. Crews placed 2-1/2" hand lines and the Ladder Pipe in operation. The fire was placed at the 50 minute mark. Many thanks to Ted Aurig, who was the only photographer on scene and has made some pictures available. I had photographed these vacant homes that were involved in this fire on November 4, 2011, and these pictures are also on this page. As with the web page covering other Camden Fire Department events, if you can identify anyone that I've missed, please e-mail me. (I'm terrible at at names and faces). Phil
