Introduction
Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized soon after the construction of the houses at Yorkship Village. Located at Yorkship and Tuckahoe Roads, this church was not connected to a similarly named church that was located at North 27th Street and Hayes Avenue in Cramer Hill.

FROM THE PASTOR’S STUDY
Return to worship, and, by so doing we naturally enter into relationships with one another. Such entering into relationships causes us to think of the cost to our Lord who sacrificed himself for the sake of opening our minds and hearts to His Word — that singular word that says so must love all men — for in loving we are unified and find that unity together is very necessary for the length of time that we have with each other. Time is so important. Think of all the life . . . If . . . if only I had taken time out to return to worship, enter into relationships . . . what???
Now. The night is far gone. The day is at hand. Now is the time for resolution. Make a RESOLUTION to embody all these areas for 1967. After all, it is still your church. Have a good NEW YEAR. See you at the Congregational Meeting — January 15th at 3:00 PM.
LUTHERAN CHURCH WOMEN
The following women were elected to office at the December general meeting: President — Marie Greene; Vice President — Ann Armstrong; Secretary — Gertrude Korth; Treasurer — Mildred Haug.
An Executive Committee meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Marie Greene, 2254 South 8th Street, on Wednesday, January 4th, at 8:00 PM. All officers, committee chairmen and president of Circles are asked to attend.
The next general meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 21st. An interesting program is being planned. All women of the church are cordially invited to attend. More details in the next newsletter.
NEWS OF THE CIRCLES
DORCAS — The January meeting will be held on Wednesday, the 4th at 1:00 PM in the Parish House. Mrs. E. Brimfield and Mrs. Violet Deich will be co-hostesses. New officers elected at the December meeting are as follows: Mrs. Margaret Gresk, President; Mrs. Estelle Zeugner, Vice President; Mrs. Gertrude Korth, Secretary.
DEBORAH — The January meeting will be held on Monday, the 9th at 8:00 PM at the home of Mrs. Doris Atkinson, 2857 Cushing Rd. Mrs. Ann Armstrong will be co-hostess. New officers elected at the December meeting are as follows: Mrs. Ruth Scott, President; Mrs. Ann Armstrong, Secretary; Miss Mildred Haug, Treasurer.
LYDIA — The January meeting will be held on Monday, the 16th at 8:00 PM in the Parish House. Guest speaker will be Mrs. Carol Aynes of the Wildwood Fresh Air Home. She will give a talk and show a film on the activities at the home. New officers elected at the December meeting are as follows: Mrs. Alice Lee, President; Mrs. Mary Kittell, Treasurer.

ITEMS OF INTEREST
WHITE CHRISTMAS SERVICE AND PROGRAM — Boys and girls of the Community Methodist Deaconess Home of Camden, N.J. presented a pageant, under the direction of our organist, Mr. Larry Juliana. Mr. Bruce Ames assisted Pastor in the closing Service of Worship.
THE CANDLES for the Sanctuary Light in the chancel have been given for the entire year of 1967 as the gift of Mr. and Mrs. George Christoffersen and son in memory of Mrs. Christoffersen’s father, mother and brother.
THE ANNUAL CONGREGATIONAL MEETING is scheduled for Sunday, January 15th, at 3:00 PM. A buffet supper will be served at 5:30 PM. Plan now to attend.
OFFERING ENVELOPES for 1967 are available in the narthex. Please pick yours up at your earliest convenience to save the Stewardship Committee the job of delivering them personally.

CAMDEN LUTHERAN CHURCHES AND TEMPLE LUTHERAN CHURCH, PENNSAUKEN HOST WAGNER COLLEGE CHOIR FEBRUARY 11th
Dr. Sigvart J. Steen, a man who has enjoyed wide and successful experience in the choral music field, will bring his Wagner College Choir to Temple Lutheran Church, Pennsauken on February 11, 1967. In addition to appearances in such well-known U.S. concert halls as Lincoln Center’s Philharmonic Hall, Washington, D.C.’s Constitution Hall and Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, Dr. Steen’s choirs have sung to capacity audiences in Europe and Canada.
Dr. Steen received his musical training at Luther College (Decorah, Ia.) under the world-renowned Julius Christiansen at St. Olaf, at New York University and at the University of Berlin. Director of the popular Great Lakes Blue Jackets choir during World War II, Dr. Steen also directed several top-flight college choral groups before coming to Wagner in 1946. He headed the department of music at Wagner from 1946 to 1965.
There are some things which we are asking the membership to undertake: (1) Overnight lodging for 63 choir members. Following the choir concert the host will be introduced to his charge, taken home for the night, lodged, and receiving breakfast, returned to Temple Lutheran Church. (2) All out visible support by attendance at the Choral Concert on February 11, 1967 at Temple Lutheran Church. Please indicate your willingness by calling the pastor at 964-8041 or speak to him following the worship Service Sunday, January 8th.
