CORPORAL ROBERT S. QUIRK was born in 1922 to Samuel and Emelie Bagley Quirk in New Jersey. His father was a railroad worker. In April of 1930 the Quirks lived with Emelie's parents in Norwood, Delaware County PA. Robert Quirk attended high school for two years before entering the work force, following his father on to the railroad. He was inducted into the United States Army at Fort Dix, New Jersey on April 18, 1942.

Corporal Quirk was a resident of Camden County NJ, prior to his induction into the United States Army on April 18, 1942. He was killed in action while serving in Italy on October 7, 1943.
