PRIVATE ROBERT L. RIDDLEBAUGH  was born about 1923 to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Riddlebaugh. he grew up in Pennsauken NJ, where his family made their home at 2021 North Center Street. He graduated from Merchantville High School, and was employed at the RCA-Victor plant in Camden NJ before enlisting in the Marine Corps in April of 1942. He went overseas in January, 1943.

The Department of the Navy notified his parents that Private Riddlebaugh was missing in action on June 2, 1943. He had been serving as a airplane gunner, as reported in the July 5, 1943 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.
