STAFF SERGEANT PAUL W. ADAMS was born about 1898 in Pennsylvania, probably near Reading. He had three brothers, Clarence, Stanley, and Franklin, and a sister Viola. Paul Adams enlisted in the Army around 1927. His brothers and sister all remained in the Reading area where Clarence and Stanley worked in in railroad repair shops. Paul Adams had married Alice B. Daley, and they had made there home at 924 Somerset Street in Gloucester City NJ. During the war years, Sergeant Adams had been stationed at the induction station in Camden NJ. He was subsequently posted to Camp Meade MD, where he died suddenly on October 18, 1945. His death was reported in the Camden Courier-Post on October 20, 1945. Sergeant Adams was brought home to New Jersey, and after a funeral service in Gloucester City at Brown and Monmouth streets, he was buried at New St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellmawr NJ on October 23, 1945. Sergeant Adams was survived by his wife Alice, brothers Clarence, Stanley, and Franklin, and sister Mrs. Viola Miller. |
