SEAMAN FIRST CLASS OLIVER ROBERT REGN was born on March 12, 1926, the son of Oliver B. Regn and his wife, the former Grace Smith. His father died before he was born, on June 21, 1925 at the age of 21. Oliver Regn was raised by his mother and grandparents, Robert and Mary Smith, who lived at Kresson Road and Dover Avenue, in Gibbsboro PA. Robert Smith, a native of Northern Ireland, was working as a watchman in April of 1930, when the census was taken. A member of the United States Navy, Seaman Regn, like his father, died very young, of causes not related to combat, on February 23, 1946, on Berlin Road in Gibbsboro NJ. He was survived by his mother and grandmother, who still resided on Kresson Road. |
