PRIVATE LESTER E. STELTZ, the son of G. Warren and Lizzie Steltz of 439 Beechwood Avenue, Haddonfield NJ, was reported killed in action in the Mediterranean in the October 23, 1944 edition of the Camden Courier-Post.

Lester Steltz was born in Pennsylvania in 1909. At the time of the 1920 and 1930 census, his father was a farmer in New Hanover Township, Montgomery County PA. After finishing grammar school, Lester Steltz went to work, in 1930 as a machine operator in a dye casting factory, a trade he apparently followed until entering the Army. He was inducted into the United States Army at Allentown PA on August 19, 1943. He was divorced with no dependents at that time.

Lester Steltz was brought back to the United States for burial after the war.
