FLORENCE MAY FIELD was born in New York on October 19, 1883. Her mother's maiden name was Hutchinson.

The 1910 Census shows her living in Haddonfield NJ with her sister Ada and brother-in-law Charles H. Allen at 46 Estaugh Avenue. She was then self employed as a dressmaker.

Apparently when America called in World War I, Florence May Field answered. The 1920 Census shows here living and working at the United States Naval Hospital in Chelsea MA. She would remain a Navy Nurse for the rest of her life. In April of 1930, Nurse Field was stationed at the Philadelphia Navy Yard in Philadelphia PA.

Florence May Field was still on active duty during World War II. She died of causes not related to combat on July 19, 1945 at Los Angeles CA, survived by her niece, Mis Bertha Jacoby Allen, of 46 Estaugh Avenue, Haddonfield NJ.

Florence May Field was buried at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno CA on July 24, 1945.
