CORPORAL CLAUDE S. PARKER was born in 1914 in Virginia to Sanford and Cora Parker. The family lived in Central Point, Caroline County, Virginia for many years. Claude Parker was still living in Virginia as late as the spring of 1940. At some point after the 1940 census Corporal Parker either moved to New Jersey or established ties to Camden County, New Jersey, which was his address of record when he died. The Army listed him as a Camden County resident in the Honor Roll of wartime deaths published in 1946. Corporal Parker died while stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, from injuries received in a car accident the previous day. |
