PRIVATE FIRST CLASS PAUL DONALD BENEWAY was born on June 13, 1925. He was the son of Earl Stanley and Elva Edith Beneway. The 1930 Census shows the Beneway family living at 1417 10th Avenue in Neptune NJ, where Earl Beneway was working in a lumber mill at the time of the 1930 Census. At some point in time, Paul Beneway established ties to Camden County NJ.

Assigned to Company I of the 313th Infantry Regiment, 79th Infantry Division, PFC Beneway was mortally wounded in fighting near Embermenil, France in October of 1944. Taken by litter and ambulance to the 103rd Evacuation Hospital, PFC Beneway died of his wounds in October 3, 1944.

Survived by his parents, Paul Beneway was brought home to the United States in 1948. He was buried at the Hamilton Cemetery in Hamilton NJ.
