PRIVATE ERWIN F. BLINN was born on April 22, 1922 in New York to Harry and Augusta (Gussie) Blinn. His early years were spent in Brooklyn NY where his father worked as a motion picture projectionist. At some point Irwin Blinn had taken up residence in Collingswood NJ, where he lived at 911 Stokes Avenue.

Irwin Blinn was inducted into the Army between July of 1940 and December of 1941. He was assigned to Company A of the 305th Engineer Combat Battalion. His unit was stationed at Camp Forrest TN in March of 1943 when Private Blinn was killed from traumatic shock suffered when an artillery piece exploded prematurely.

Irwin Bkinn was survived by his mother, of Brooklyn, and brother Chester G. Blinn, of Stamford Connecticut.
