PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ROBERT IGNATIUS DRUMM was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 11, 1888. When he registered for the draft on June 5, 1917 he was living in Sicklerville in Winslow Township, New Jersey. He was then working as a farmer for Charles Andrews. Robert Drumm was single at that time, and had not married when he was called up in September of 1917.

Robert Drumm was inducted into the United States Army in Camden on September 21, 1917. Assigned to Company K, 311th Infantry Regiment, he went overseas with his unit in May of 1918. Robert Drumm was promoted to Private First Class on August 1, 1918.

Private First Class Robert I. Drumm was killed in action on October 27, 1918. His sister, Josephine Drumm, who lived in Philadelphia, was notified of his death.
