PRIVATE JAMES MURTHA, was born in Pennsylvania. He lived at 322 Point Street, in Camden, New Jersey. Private Murtha was killed in action during the Battle of the Argonne Forest on October 7, 1918. He was assigned to Company L, 337th Infantry regiment, and later the 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was survived by his widowed mother, Mrs. Emma Murtha, younger brothers John and George, and younger sisters Helen and Ruth, all of the Point Street address. |
