EDWARD J. MAHAN was from Clementon Heights, a section of Clementon NJ
that in the 1920s became the borough of Pine Hill. He was born in the
Frankford section of Philadelphia to Charles and Mary Mahan and was
still living there when he registered for the draft in June of 1917. He
had moved with his brother to Clementon prior to his induction into the
United States Army.
Private
Edward J. Mahan was killed in action while serving with the 148th Infantry Regiment,
37th Infantry Division in Europe on October 31, 1918. He was buried
at Flanders Field American Cemetery, Waregem, Belgium
