BENJAMIN SANDLOW was the son of Mary Sandlow, of 1238 Mechanic Street in
Camden NJ. He enlisted in the United States Army on July 22, 1917. Sent to Fort Slocum
NY, Benjamin Sandlow was assigned
to Company F, 9th Infantry Regiment.
Private
Benjamin Sandlow was killed in action on July 18, 1918 at the beginning
of the Allies major offensive. Initially declared missing in action, the
Army changed his status to killed in action in July of 1919.

Sandlow was survived by his father, who had passed away by January of
1920. He was also survived by his mother, brothers Louis, Carl, and
Anthony, and sisters Della, Laura, and Charlotte. Another brother, John
Sandlow, was born after Benjamin Sandlow had been killed. The family was
still living on Mechanic Street as as late as April 1930.
