PRIVATE ANGELO MICHAEL MUCCI was the son of Domenico Lucrezia Mucci. He appears to have been born in Italy, coming to America in 1914, his father having come over 6 years earlier. He had lived at 220 Pine Street in Camden NJ prior to being drafted. Angelo Mucci was drafted on August 15, 1917 and was sent to Camp Meade MD for training. Assigned to Company I, 314th Infantry regiment, he was killed in action on October 12, 1918 during the Battle of the Argonne Forest. Angelo Mucci was survived by his parents and several siblings. His great-nephew, Chuck Cogan, wrote in September of 2020: The original portrait of Angelo hung in my grandfathers (Angelos brother) TV room in Gloucester City, NJ until the day he died. We have since given the original portrait to his grand-nephew Joseph Mucci. |
