Bob Carter was my platoon sergeant.
He was the go-to guy when things had to be done. You could always count on
him to do the right thing. He would have achieved a lot in life because of
his attitude. Him, Rocco Pannicia and me were running the point during the
68 TET. There was an explosion and I was told later that it was a claymore
set up on our flank. Rocco and I were wounded, Sgt Carter was killed. I
think about him often and know that we would have been lifelong
friends.
