Raymond S. Starnes

Private First Class Starnes was born in Camden NJ in 1931. Nick-named Jack, he was a member of Company E, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team. He was killed in action while fighting the enemy near Chinhyon-ni, North Korea on July 25, 1951. Private First Class Starnes was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously. He was survived by his mother, Mrs. Anna Murphy, of 938 Howard Street, Camden NJ.
