SECOND LIEUTENANT JOHN KINNEY WELLS was the first child born on August 9, 1921 to John D. and Maguerite Wells in Collingswood NJ. The Wells family lived at different times at 131 Marne Avenue (1930) and 401 Westmont Avenue (1940s) in Haddonfield NJ, was a graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School, and a member of Haddonfield Methodist Church. Besides John, there was a younger brother, Malcolm, and sister, Mary Elizabeth,

John Kinney Wells served during World War II as an enlisted man. He qualified for flight duty, and was a tail-gunner on a B-29 Superfortress. He re-enlisted after the war, and was commissioned an officer.

He married a high-school classmate. Both he and his wife Doris served during World War II, as she was in the Women's Army Corps.

John Kinney Wells was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio TX when he was killed in an automobile accident on June 19, 1950. His body was returned to New Jersey, and he was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in Beverly NJ on June 26, 1950.
