Camden Streets - Wilmot Avenue

WILMOT AVENUE is in East Camden, running south from 3154 Fremont Avenue to Berkley Street, then angling to the southwest to intersect with Burwood Avenue. Wilmot Avenue does not appear in the 1906 Sanborn Map. The first listing of any home on Wilmot Avenue in a City Directory occurred in 1913, a twin home at 210-212 Wilmot Avenue.

In 1942 ten brick duplex rowhomes, numbers 224 through 242, were built on the east side of Wilmot Avenue. Twelve single family rowhomes were built after the 1947 City Directory was comiled, numbering from 225 to 247.

In recent times, when compiling on-line map information, Wilmot Avenue became "Wilmont Avenue". The correct spelling and how the street is entered in all government records (tax, real estate, etc.) is WILMOT.
