Tee's Cafe

Tee’s Cafe occupied the building at 619 Ferry Avenue from 1972 to at least 1981. It had, from the 1940s until mid-1969, been the home of the Yugoslav Workers’ Club. The Eighth Ward Progressive Republican Club held a license here from 1970 until 1972, when Derese Fisher, who had been an officer in the Eighth Ward club, was licensed.

The last mention in the Courier-Post is dated in 1982, when the individual convicted of an armed robbery of Tee’s Place in 1980 was sentenced to a lengthy prison term.

By 1990 Tee’s Cafe shut its doors. Although the sign remains, today the building is a private residence.
